finch/flax seed

Just wondering where I could pick up some finch/flax seed. Saw some at the pet store but it had all sorts of shit in it like carrots and such. Thanks for the suggestions.

for the birdseed, just go to the local supermarket and pick up a bag of wild birdseed. For the flax seed go to health food store(or probably elsewhere too, but that's where dude gets his)

pennington brand finch seed is what i use. I buy mine at wal mart. 5$ for 10 lbs. Pennington brand dosen't have all that other shit most bird seed has. flax seed is sold at a health food store and even in the super market here. use the phone book before driving all over town, you'll get a better deal.

Don't forget that you are looking for flax seed meal. If you wet just flax seed you will get one hell of a muculoginous mess. You might try grinding up the flax seed yourself though I have never done this. Don't see why not though.

I went to wal mart tonight looking for pennington brand bird seed and they didn't have it. What is the consistency/makeup of the seed you purchase? Is it all the same type of seed or isthere larger seed and vegies mixed in?
