in your dreams can you run fast?

I had a dream last night...pretty long one...but at one point I was racing this dude to a bar on foot....we were speed walking (i've never been able to run in a dream) and at certain parts the speed walking was soo hard that i had to crawl. everytime i try to move fast in a dream it is very difficult and tiring. i think this has to do with the chemical that paralyzes the body during sleep but...i'm thinking the mind could overide this in dream. can any of you run in your dreams?

In my dreams I'm always being chased by something that is very ominous and menacing, and I always just outrun it, running so fast my feet almost slip out from under me.

I have the exact same thing, even the crawling. In dreams where I have to run I usually have to grab the grass and pull myself forward.

Not being able to run fast is one of the most common dreamsigns there is.

Exactly. That feeling is so horrible. I'll be being chased by something, and yet it feels as if I'm going to terribly slow. That, I just have to drag myself along.

I can run fast in my dreams, but usually not fast enough. I'm even aware that I'm running really fast, like things wizz by...but I always end up getting killed in the end

It depends on the dream. Sometimes I feel like I'm paralyzed, and it takes all of my focus just to stand up.
I've also had dreams where I was running like a mother-fucker, I've even had one where I was almost flying-- it was like I was running in really low gravity but I was still on Earth. I could basically manipulate the laws of physics at will, damn that was a fun one.
No recurring themes here.

I don't usually have running dreams but I know the quick-sand, can't hardly move feeling. I used to always get the reoccuring dream where I'm fighting someone or something and I can't punch, I use all my strength and my fist moves in slow motion and causes no damage. Frustrating as shit.

Oh thank God I thought I was the only one. This has pissed me off since I was a baby. I wont be able to pedal a bicycle, or run fast. If I try to run fast, I fall. Almost like my upper body will go faster than my legs. You ever try to run in water? (like a 4 foot deep swimming pool) Because of the water resistance your legs wont go as fast as your arms pump. Thats what it feels like. It pisses me off....especially when E.T, a Midget, or a Clown is chasing me.

I have dreams like that too. On the flip side, I have dreams where I'm an ass kicking machine and I can choke slam the biggest dude or throw people so forcefully that their head explodes when they impact something, but I can never really punch hard enough or accurately.

I have that as well, but not as common as vision imparement. When I'm in a situation where I really need to do something, I won't be able to see anymore, and when I really focus I can only see a little bit and then I get dizzy...it's weird.

yeah whenever i fight in my dreams....i'm never able to hit their face hard enough...i'm always dissapointed and feel like a pussy...even though i always win the fight....
i think this may be because i've never experienced what it's like to really hit someone's face as hard as you can....i'm a real pussy when it comes to hitting in the face....i hate hurting people

Most of my dreams are pretty dull, unless i get laid. Some times cool stuff happens, but normally its about everyday life shit and i just forget it when i wake up. I don't remember running in dreams very much, but i have seen other people run really fast, or just be doing things at a crazy speed.

Sometimes I have the worst dream that I am falling from the sky and just as I am about to hit the ground, it starts over again like a broken record. Any dream doctors out there? I've fallen and I keep getting up!

Sometimes I can run really fast (but my legs aren't moving), other times I'm glued to the ground.
