I had ANOTHER chasing dream
    #2683240 -

It the past two days I've had three dreams where I'm being chased by someone, usually a male authoritive figure.  I swear, all I dream nowadays is that I'm being chased and I have to figure out how to outwit and hide from him, and such.

So I went online and this is what I found out about my chase dreams:

"Chase dreams often stem from feelings of anxiety in your walking life. The way we respond to anxiety and pressure in real life is typically manifested as a chase dream. Running is an instinctive response to physical threats in our environment. Often in these dream scenarios, you are being pursued by some attacker, who wants to hurt or possibly kill you. You are running away, hiding, or trying to outwit your pursuer. Chase dreams may represent your way of coping with fears, stress or various situations in your waking life. Instead of confronting the situation, you are running away and avoiding it."

I always try to avoid difficult situations if I can help it, so they're not really telling me anything that I don't know, but it's still interesting.

This is where I found out about my dream.

I had an odd chasing dream a couple nights ago as well... it wasn't as scary as previous ones, at the end my stalked turned into 'Bou' from Dragonball Z. I haven't watched that in years so it was odd...
In the end, someone ended up humping Bou's leg and I realized I was dreaming. I was having a really screwed up dream at that. When I was about to take advantage of my lucid dream I was interrupted and woke up.

WEIRD!

All my chase dreams end with me hiding in some horribly obvious place like under a table. Every single time, I wake up right before I'm about to be found (don't ask me why, but in almost every one, I'm being chased by some street gang that I somehow offended). And I wake and get all pissed off at myself for not finding a better hiding spot. I mean, I'm great at the running. I just consistently fuck up the hiding.  :frown:

I always hide in really weird places...like a little crawlspace under a house that leads to a labriyinth of underground caverns and stuff.

The dreams are never scary...just intense.  I'm always just one step ahead of my chasers, haha!

In alot of them, I just fly away.

I never placed much stock in most dream analyses but that ones pretty good. What does the person you're hiding from represent to you? Any issues unresolved in your life? That's what needs to be wrapped up so the dreams will stop...that is, if you want them to stop.

I don't know, they're pretty exciting, especially because I never get caught!   Sometimes the person chasing me is my father, sometimes it is a nameless government figure, or someone in the military.  It's always a male and it's always someone who wants to punish me for doing "wrong."  Although what I've actually done that's wrong changes with every installment of the "chase dream."

Maybe it signifies that I feel like I'll never be good enough for these male figures, so I don't want to try and instead I just run away?

Don't be silly! You're too good for 'em. It's just what the analysis said about responding to anxiety & pressure. You have a problem in your life you don't want to deal with yet, right? Maybe you're not ready to just yet. That's cool. Relax. When things are right for you to confront, you will.

I really don't think I have anything I'm avoiding in my life.   I do have a habit of fleeing if things get tough, but I've always done that.  Maybe I should start confronting my problems in life head-on more.

I was kidding...but really, when ya wake up, go back to sleep & you may be able to finish the bad dream in a better way...eventually stopping them altogether. just a theory.
