Paul Auster's one of my favorite authors ever, and Mr. Vertigo's probably my favorite book he's ever written.

e-chode...I fucking LOVE that book.

I'm poring over every paragraph, trying to analyze every word choice. It's so layered and symbolic. I love the themes explored, as well.

It's without question the best book I've ever read. Have you seen the play yet? I think it's at the Gershwin Theater.

The Ancestor's Tale by Richard Dawkins

Very interesting read it's a backwards look at evolution starting with humans and working back through common ancestors each common ancestor tells a tale. He writes the story in the style of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales

He has another book: Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, but it's a big  compared to Wicked.  Wicked's brilliant..

I haven't seen the play, no, but it's won all sorts of awards. I usually don't attend live theater..doesn't do it for me.

They really changed a lot of the events in the book for the play, but the underlying concepts stay the same.  There's a lot of emphasis on the friendship of Elphaba and Glinda.  A lot of stuff got cut, as well.  I understand that though; otherwise it would be a 14 hour play or some shit.

When I saw it, Joey McIntyre (of New Kids on the Block fame) was playing Fiyero.
