Habitat

Grass. The middle of my yard.

Characteristics of the gills

I don't see any gills. The top of it look more liek a bulb and I'm pretty sure it is undeveloped.

Characteristics of the stem

redish brown, hard, almost like reishi, white at the top

Characteristics of the cap

No real cap, more like a white bulb, but like I said I think it is not delveloped fully yet.

Spore print color

N/A

Color that the mushroom bruises

Stem is hardend, but the bulb bruises very pale pink when I squeeze it.

Scent of the mushroom

None

Sadly I found this one after I cut the grass, or I would have let it grow.

So, isn't it just a young Reishi specimen?

it most likely resembles a Ganoderma, or "Reishi".

Reishi mushrooms grow from wood tho, so maybe there is a buried log or tree stump underneath your grass..
