BASIC QUESTION FROM A BEGINNER

I was just wondering whether it was ok to expose your jars to light during the colonization period. It has been about one day since I have made my substrate and I keep pulling them out of my container and looking to see if there is any growth yet, due to my curiosity. I was just curious if this is ok or if it will ruin my results. Thanks a lot, Peace

try not to expose them to light. i don't blame you but maybe try checking every two day or even three days.if your going to use just cakes for fruiting expose them to light when they are like 90%colonized

Many people use lights 24/7 for heat. It really makes no difference.

It really depends on the strain. Some will pin invitro easily with light. My friend uses a red light for incubation sice it's the worst color spectrum for initilizing pins. Works like a charm.
