For me, clothing is functional. It protects from the elements, helps control body temperature, keeps my junk from hanging out, and provides carrying capacity.

I was down in Key West last year, and got a pair of sandals made for me.  Got to watch a bunch of cubans cobbling them for me.  Its actually a pretty well known place, but I have forgotten the name.  (Drunk at the time I was there.)
$12 for hand-made, leather sandals.  Can't beat that.  :smile:

For what it's worth, my dad said shorts used to be considered "uncool" where he lived. He said everyone pretty much wore jeans year-round. Apparently it wasn't common for men to wear shorts. Then again, he was a biker so there may be different customs in that crowd? :lol:

Dude, they were all I could find!  My other shorts ripped and I needed a new pair.  Given that this is the end of summer, short selections are limited.

I got these shorts from Aeropastle.  It was so fucking embarrassing being in that store.  I was in there with a zillion 12-15 year old girls bitching at their moms to buy them this or that.  I looked so out of place.

I don't like wearing flip-flops. The insides of my toes get sore from wearing them. But I like wearing sandals with straps. Sometimes they're just more comfortable, or more practical.

You are right they are UBER gay!! id much rather go barefoot

except for reef ones for some reason they look good even if you are not within a 20 mile radios of the beach.

edit: the old school ones i see reef now has "trendy" ones
