well... i was thinking about going into the army a bit ago.. and backed out, pretty much because i wasnt ready to give up my freedom and was still wanting to see what life was life

well looks like im ready for uncle sam.. i probably wont be leaving until januaryish.. but its looking inevitable that ill end up fighting for the government soon

pretty much because all my friends are getting ready to go off to college and im doing nothing.. im not progessing at all.. and i cant stand to watch everyone else do something and me not

captain- idk if its good.. its just what everything has boiled down to

you would be a lot happier it you didnt do it, trust me. what is te job you want to do again? man i wish i could really put it into words how bad of a decision the military is.

Might as well just kill yourself. If you join up you lose your freedom, your ability to choose, etc. etc. You become a pawn for a system powered by greed and hatred. Is that something worth fighting for?

Really?

Is it something that you're willing to sacrifice your very LIFE for? Once you join up you're no longer a person. You're a number. A number at the mercy of a bunch of power hungry fucks.

Choose something else man, choose anything else. Even if it doesn't pay well, you've gotta start somewhere. But at least allow yourself the opportunity to be free and have free will and free choice.

Son,
The Army has a great program to help you thru college. I know you want to do your thing for your Country, Liberty, and the Great American Way, and I'm proud of you son. But pick an MOS that will give you real talents and experience you can use when you get home; 11B's & C's don't have much future on the job market.

Give 'em hell son, and remember to send some of that cash home to mom to save for a rainy day.

ive got a few friends in the military, as well as some family. One of my buddies joined the Army to impress his girlfriends family so he could marry her, it worked, but he ended up with 3-nine month tours in Iraq...he ended up hating it and has already finished his four years, he said other than getting to see Korea and Iraq, it was a waste of time.

My other buddy as well as my cousin joined the Navy. My cousin works on nuclear subs, one of the highest paying jobs in the navy, and he loves it, he has also set foot on every continent in the world, which is pretty cool. My friend that joined the navy is an airplane mechanic and is learning to work on some new jet they haven't publicly annonced yet. He is going to be stationed on a aircraft carrier to continue his job. He decided last month that he was going to go career.

If i was to join any military branch (which i was, but am not allowed to due to my past.) it would be the airforce or navy...as most have a better chance of obtaining skills useable in the real world, not like marines or army grunts.

Best of luck. Remember to just do waht your told in boot and get the best MOS you can that you like. Dont be a dick or try to be tougher than the DI or you will get your shit kicked in.

Also get everything in writing from the recruiter if you are geting a highly sought after MOS.

And take college classes while you are in. Its a great way to get ahead and kill time.
