Sanuk Flip Flops

so I was given some Sanuk flip flops a couple years ago from my sister. She told me that they'd be the most comfortable flops I'd ever owned. I live in Florida, so I know me some flops. HA.  anyways, they were! I got over a year out of them before they got put in the closet. They still probably have plenty of life left, but it was time for some new ones.  They were "retired" not worn out. Anyways, I bought a new pair of Sanuk's. The next pair, was basically the same thing, over a year and just put in the closet. Well, 4 months ago I got a new pair of flip flops from Sanuk.  These ones, unfortunately have both excessively worn in a very short amount of time. and, the worst part is, I'm working more, so if anything wear them less often. Well i was highly upset by this. These were $40 flip flops.

Last night I wrote Sanuk a well written, lengthy email describing that I was disappointed with their product. I was now, unexpectedly, in the market to buy new flip flops, and would most likely not be buying a new pair of Sanuk's because since their company has become more popular recently, apparently it's been at a cost to quality.  This morning, I recieved an email from a Sanuk representative. She immediately told me that the flip flops would be replaced, with a new pair of my choice of ANY of their footwear in the lineup.  She also took a humorous approach to apologizing (which was not pretentious, and was on-par with the company's more lighthearted look at life and business attitude).  I chose a pair that was relative in price to the pair I was replacing.  They asked for some pictures of the wear, and also for some specific product info such as model no, etc. It was very easy to comply.  The best part is, this is at absolutely no cost to me, not shipping or anything. And I get to keep the worn out pair, so i got a new pair of working on the boat flops :smile:

Anyways, just curious if anybody else on here is a Sanuk fan. And if you're not. you should definitely give them a try if you wear flip flops fairly often. Like I said, I wear them DAILY. 

Just a little info on the company.  according to their website they have 15 employees. One of which is a dog. That explains why they were so ready and willing to stand behind their product. As a businessman myself, I really like that.

I want to buy some of the slip on shoes! they are niiice. And probably just as comfortable.

I agree completely.  Its nice knowing they care about EVERY single customer. Most companies don't these days.

I've got 2 pair of the sanuk sandals/slipper things, one pair of leather flops, and one pair that is made out of the neoprene stuff used on those beer koozies

the beer coozie ones are the ones I had that overly wore. Their were two holes in the coozie material behind the thong strap. The coozie material was also flaking away. The soles were worn substantially more than the flops worn 3x as long.  Have you had any similar issues?

I wear 5 dollar flip flops from the drug store but when i can afford a pair i will get some.
But only cause donovan wears em haha

In my experience. 5 dollar flops are great for when you're worried about losing, or something happening to your flops. or when you forgot yours. but they always break within a month or two of buying them. plus they are nowhere near as comfortable. Sanuk's feel like walking on a cloud.

ive got me a pair of the hemp sanuks. 100% hemp and feels like walking on sunshine.

I rarely even wear socks in the summmer, its :awebig:

I have some just like those, but they are a different color.

cool. yeah, she said it was highly unusual. I wasn't quite sure to believe her or not, I felt it was possibly a flaw in the design with the cozy. or maybe I just got some rough ass feet.  Either way, I ordered ones that weren't beer cozy.
