Sandals and flip-flops on guys

Let me start off by saying I am no fashion guru (nor would I want to be). I wear what I want and I don't care. I also think other people should wear what they want and I won't criticize them. If you want to be preppy, hippy, goth, punk, or whatever, more power to you.
I have a problem with sandals and flip-flops on guys. I think they look so bad on guys. I am sure they are very comfortable and practical, but they look incredibly feminine to me when I see them on males. Does anybody else feel the same way?

As soon as the weather gets warm, I wear my Reef flip flops all over the city cause they hold up like a good pair of sneakers. I'm talking walking at least 2-3 miles a day in these things, for four months. I don't wear shoes again until the warm weather's over.

I wear sandals all the time. Actually, when you stayed over, I bet I was wearing them while we were walking around.

Well...it looks like I am in the minority. I wonder what has caused my aversion to sandals and flip-flops? Was it some kind of trauma or something?

You really are an insecure man, aren't you? I wear Birkenstocks and nobody has ever told me I look feminine, they've said I look like a hippy or Jesus, never feminine.
90% of the guys on my campus are wearing flip-flops or sandals, how is this feminine?

Just curious, where do you live? In warm climates 90% of guys wear flip flops, its just default... I never thought to even consider it a fashionable or unfashionable thing... lol sandals are a staple for most of the country I'd imagine.

My friend wears socks with his sandals. I always want to tell him he looks like a faggot, but I don't want to make him feel bad.

I'm not insecure.....I swear!!!
Like I said...I am not ragging on guys who wear them. I am not saying people shouldn't wear them. I'm willing to admit that I am probably in the minority and my fashion sense is probably bad (not that I care). It's just my personal opinion that sandals look bad on guys.

Hey Noviseer, where is the picture in your sig from? It makes me want to be far, far away from here.
Redstorm: Does he wear a hemp necklace too? That's the one two douchebag combo.

But you don't wear socks with your sandals, so it's ok.

Oh I've seen pictures of Redstorm's hemp necklace and I'm totally cool with it.
See, socks with sandals=bad hemp necklace = depends on the person hemp necklace + socks with sandals = bad, no matter who.

You know...I just realized something.
I am wearing blazing white socks with a pair of leather Rockport shoes that old people usually wear.
Pot calling kettle black......?

I wear sandles (those velcro-strap kind) in the summer quite often. I wouldn't wear flipflops, but more because I want something that's fastenable to my feet (sometimes it's nice to have something that won't fall off your feet when climbing or running) than because I thin they're feminine or anything. Sandles are just more comfortable, in the summer.

In some situations, they're the best choice.
For instance, at music festivals where you're often walking through mud, Tevas make sense. They're perfect on the bike as well.
I wouldn't wear them during our brutally cold winters, though.
