m00nshine is currently vacationing in Maui. Rumor has it he got rolled by drunken natives and is currently prostituting himself in order to pay for airfare back to the mainland but he's having trouble juggling a hairon addiction. He won't be back for a long while.

It's winds will still be strong but it's mainly tornados I think. In my area the creeks start flooding BAD. Last year a creek eroded 100 ft of someone's yard and took the deck off the back the house. Dumbass people should quite trying to develope beside creeks!

Each county has info regarding the 100 year flood plane. Ofcourse, there's that once in a hundred year flood right?

Eroding sand is kinda freak deal... build on rock, or drill and pour concrete piers to bedrock. there's ways around it but it's something that should always be considered when building. It's your foundation.

Most of my family lives down there right on the coast of the missisiipi, and i have friends all throughout the gulf coast. i hope they are alright, if anyone finds out any information, i would greatly appreciate knowing.

I hope you know it has been proven that those hurricanes can drive 2x4's thru concrete. 


Anywhere but underground is unsafe. And even there you'll have problems of pressure and water.

Oh Zero7 :frown:  That area got hit the hardest. Do you have TV? Are you watching the coverage? MSNBC has been giving the best coverage I think.

It's going to be very difficult for them to get a call out to you. Cell phone stations in that area are down. It may be several days before they can drive out. Flood waters need to subside, roads need to be cleared and their cars needed to remain undamaged. The damage is so wide spread it's unbelievable what a mess that thing made.

Be patient and be thinking the best for them.

Hopefully, when the Red Cross gets in there, they will put their names on the list of survivors. Your best bet for getting info on your family is to get in touch with the Red Cross. I think they have a web-site or a number you can call. That's something the Red Cross covers. Those volunteers kick ass during times like these too.

The whole situation is fucked up. I took donations for the relief fund at work, it's been nothing but a shit tone of depressing news all day. FUCK NATURE. I say we nuke incomming hurricanes before they hit, or drop ice into the warm spots into the oceans that cause them. GOD Damn god. WHY the fuck would you do this?

He's west of new orleans and the strom moved east of NO so hopefully he didnt get it to bad.

i dont think he will get power for weeks/months though

nah, I've been glued to the tube all day....there is no suchthing as not getting hit to hard if you live anywhere near there. My brother is going down with the national guard to help clean up next week. I am glad that he is doing something productive rather than going to fight a political war in Iraq.
