Guitar, anyone?

Playing guitar is like a drug for me. Sometimes when i play, I have a block and dont perform to my full potential. Mostly though, when I play, its a very surreal experience, I get in a TRANCE. This is much easier when im stoned, or the most amazing when on LSD. It becomes such a theraputic, INTENSE experience. The music flows through me, I play songs that remind me of ANCIENT ancestors, of my ROOTS...
Almost like I travel time and am in a tribe playing music next to a fire in some ceremonial trance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone else?

I play for atleast 2 hours a day, minimum. Whenever I throw on music I just feel the need to play along and jam. Like gateway said music is the best drug. When I'm high and I'm jamming I too get into a trance and my playing seems to flow beautifully; my timing always seems prefect.:gd_icon:

Been drumming for years, and I know what you're talking about. The block thing happens... The trick is to forget the ego, I guess... if that can really ever be done.
I've been seriously studying guitar for two weeks or so, though I've always been a chord strummer. Working on speed and soloing, now. I'm still not loose enough to let go and shred... or get in a trance like playing the drums and jamming. But give me three more weeks...

I play electric guitar, it's a great experience to improvise being stoned :smile:.

yes playing guitar rocks. so fun, so therapeutic.
I too get into a trance playing most of the time
when I'm tripping I sometimes play for hours on end
the best is spontaneously jamming with someone in that mindstate
drums/hand drums are the same way.. I can go forever
I love playing music :heart:

i just started playing. It's addictive as hell, I gotta get my fix. I get burned out listening to the same song over and over but I can play the same one for a hell of a lot longer and enjoy it more and more everytime.

that's funny.. I've thought the same thing while playing
Like I'll be jamming with my band and be in the middle of a totally complex jam
and you're just in this trance state playing all automatically
and we'll be pumping out this crazy melody.. and I'll just think
wtf is this stringed piece of wood that I'm playing.. and how are my fingers moving like that? :lol:

I love playing with a delay, so it repeats, sometimes it can sound like electronic trance music....... :smile:

I TRY to play everyday, but usually I only get in a few good hours a week, with work and all. I'm a decent guitar player, been playing on and off for a few years. I usually play my Takamine acoustic, I love it. When I don't have any drugs I usually play guitar, it's just as good as the finest weed or the strongest opiate.

Though playing while super stoned is awesome! I come up with some really good riffs while playing all lit :stoned:
