Old DB compost

hi guys. I have a realy old DB kit. about a year old. I took it out today to finaly use it and it's got a few small patches gray on it. I think it's mold of course. can I presure cook it (it will fit in my cooker) for like 90 min and still use it? if not please give me any way's i can still use it. Thanks in advance guys.

You could sterilze it for 1 1/2 hours in an oven at 200degrees F.

DB kits haven't even been around for a year, and if it has mold in it I'd throw it out and use some shit that doesn't have mold in it.

well it's been near a year. somewheres close to that anyway. I already cooked for 2 hours at 200F and mixed in 6 half filled quart jars of collonized rye berries. hope it works cause it to late now.

You of coarse added water after you sterilized it right?
If you didn't It will probably be to dry.

no i did not add any extra water. however i dont think it'll be to dry. DB compost gives off a lot of H2O i hear and i also put a pan full of water in the oven with the compost when sterilizing. that should have keeps any dehydration to a min. I'll give it a good spray with steril water after it's done collonizing. it's collonizing well at the moment.

PS tha bags is came in are heat rsistant so i just put the whole bag in there. that help keep water in too.
