Agreed. I have my hurricane preparedness kit- a cooler full of sandwiches, a few gallons of water, a bag of weed, and a few books.

yeah, in the worst areas think 50+ feet of water, tornado force winds sustained for maybe hours, and then 10+ inces of rain

damn man. last year i drove down to the panhandle and slept in a tent as francis blew over, it was only a tropical storm at that point, but the top of the tent was bent to shit and smalking me in the face. best of luck to you.. and be weary of looters. if you have a 12 gauge or any sort of large weapon i would bring it out.

looting nothing. electronics would be worthless.
you might be able to get some nice DVDs.
but if i were you i would go for tools, weapons, canned food, fishing equipment, knives, etc. anything that you can use to survive.

i SHOULD add however you will need scuba gear and likely a shark suit. its gonna be like a boiling chum frenzy of bullsharks and old people.
then gradually just bullsharks.

alright its gettin pretty nasty outside, and the lights are browning, so this is probably my last post before it hits.

wish me luck, but I am excited; i got my weed, candles, books food and water for about 3 days, and this is going to be a hell of a storm.

How can you not be long out of there by now. Do you understand that this is the equivalent of an F 3 tornado 141 miles wide?

This one is not about prtecting property, it's about protecting your life.

I love joking and clowning around but this is no joke. Set the size and sustained wind speeds and flood potential aside.

Look at the pressure of 903mb. Windows will be popping like corn and once they go, the roofs are soon to follow and then all hell breaks loose in the interior.

Get the fuck out of there people.

I remember some friends having a hurricane party in one they took as a joke. The windows went, their TV exploded, the roof went and shit started flying around like torpedo's in the house. One dude jumped in the refrigerator and two others grabbed pots and covered their heads and dove under the beds. They weren't laughing the next day about it. Years later, they still don't laugh about it. It's ten years later and I still don't laugh about it. The memories make me sick. Over a hundred who took it as a joke died in that storm.

If there are any memories I could have erased, the experience of that hurricane would be in the top 2 of my 37 years of life. One of this magnitude is not something you want to go through. It's something you wish NO ONE will ever have to go through.

Dude, if you stay, I hope your windows are boarded and you have a place to take cover when/if the roof goes and that you are not in a flood zone. Have a mattress ready to pull over yourself near a bath tub.

The north east side of the eye takes the hardest pounding and if it stays on its current course, that's where you are.

By this time tomorrow, for thousands, it'll be to late for would'ves should'ves could'ves.

In this case, wishful and hopeful thinking pales in face of the facts. The area in it's path is going to get demolished.

I don't even know you dude but I care, all I can do is encourage you to leave, wish you well and ask that you play it safe and smart.
