You could it either flip burgers the rest your life, work retail, get a factory, job or stick out in college and get a job with good pay and your ok.

Go to classes, do your fucking work, and get good grades. Who cares about friends and fun? Not me; that's for sure.

ANd, if you start feeling lonely, order a real doll with your federal loans funds and get a second job in the dorm cafeteria.

Best.  Solution.  Evar.

College is great. I've never learned so much information in such a small amount of time. I'd stay here inefinitely if I could.

there are plenty of good jobs that dont require a degree.

Tech school is always an option. I like it alot better then I liked college.

I had the same problem as you. I ended up getting pretty depressed and dropped a bunch of classes and failed a bunch too. I had to stay and finish out the semester because if i decided to leave i would have gotten no refund. but the money was lost anyway since i failed everything.

now i go to community college close to where i live and it only costs a tenth of the price of the univeristy i went to. I can transfer those credits to any state college, but any other universities get to decide whether or not to accept them (based on what? no one knows).

my advice is this: find out if you can get refunds for dropped classes. if not then finish the semester and do your best to pass.

let me tell you this though, living at home and going to community college is not fun. most of my friends from home have gone away to college and those that didnt are turning into junkies so i dont hang with them anymore. i never meet any new people, which is a big plus of living at college.

the point is my life still sucks, i realized it sucks due to me, not due to being at college and "not liking it". i was just too stubborn/shy to meet people and enjoy it.

Maybe you shouldn't think college is for fun, but rather it is a propulsion towards getting a better career.

I think many people go into college with a very naive youth mindset that somehow, "the party never ends" so to speak.

Yet 4 years of goofing around can be costly in the end. Many people leave college with no sense of what they want to do or even towards any career directions.

And even though you COULD make a good living without going to a college/university, in the end, your chances are GREATLY increased by earning a degree in something that can help you find a job. The demographics of salary post-college don't lie. Many job outlets pay more SIMPLY because you have a college degree.

ANd i also never buy into the hype of college being the "best years of your life". THat's total bullshit. You'll only hear that from people who have made too many regrets along the path of life. People who live awsome lives outside of college will tell you that college was a bore, you were broke, and there was great limit and shelter towards what you could do.

I say, go work hard. Stop trying to emulate "Animal House" and try to achieve something greater in life. And get paid well doing it.

I've had some trouble staying at college.  The "goal" of graduations always seemed too far, far ahead.

Now I finally think I've found a skill I can use full time and offers immediate gratification for learning.  Dog grooming!  After I get out of grooming academy I will be able to take that skill all over the world, wherever there are dogs.  Pretty useful AND once I go professional I'll be able to set my own hours.

It's good enough to live on while I write and send in my stories.

What I'm saying is that I'd stick college out for a few more weeks.  But maybe sitting in a classroom isn't for you.  If that's the case, find a skill you can carry with you anywhere in the world and start learning it.  I like to do things with my hands and I like animals, so that's why dog grooming is good for me.  It even made me wonder if I SHOULD eventually go back to college to be a vech tech or something.

Good luck.

Out of curiosity, what's your major?

If you haven't picked a major yet, you're wasting money by being
enrolled. Just sit in on a few classes that you think will be cool and
see if it's the sort of thing you want to do.

I wish I'd done that before wasting a year.
