Wood chip substrate
    #458237 - 11/14/01 03:06 PM (23 years, 28 days ago)

Im thinkin of using wood chips (the kind used for bedding in hampster cages) for a skubstrate.. Would this work good for treasure coast or Eq?? i plan on seeping the chips until they sink.. strain em off, ramsey seal em, PC em, inoc em.. what do u guys think. its a cheap cheap substrate if it works, and i got tons of the shit in my basement. i mean it holds water good, has enough neuts i think, and wont go all gunked up like BRF. give me some opinions
peace

I'm not going to stake my life on it....but I don't think that cubs like to grow on wood, usually grains. BUT there are some kinds that like the wood (i.e. AZURESCENS ;^) . Unfortunately, they are supposed to be quite a bit harder to grow as I believe those types need strict control over the temperature, particularly the "night" cycles when it gets cold.
