Removing the nicotine from tobacoo by heat?

I've seen a few people when preparing joints that they burn the
ciggies. Im not sure if this is for taste, but a guy told me it
removes some of the nicotine.

Is it possible to do this by putting the cigarettes in the owen?

Any knowledge on this would be appreciated.

Err, maybe :shrug:. It's fairly volatile, and is oxidised quite easily. An oven would speed up both processes, so it might work, but I don't know really.
But you might as well try it, it can't do any harm :smile:.

yes it works in the oven. I use the hot plates when I'm at home though. You got to keep the ciggie in constant motion though or it will burst into flames.

put your tobacco on some tinfoil and heat it, it's done here but i don't know if it works.

The practice of toasting a joint is much like a guy toasting coffee beans. Toasting removes the moisture, imparts a unique flavor and helps the joint burn smoothly.

Nicotines boiling point is at 247? C thats pretty hot!
