Blue lights have been shown to initilize a large pin set. Red lights have shown to initilize the least. Any light will work.

All they really get from light is a direction in which to grow.
Even blue light makes very little differnce.

Exactly, it is important to understand that mushroom are phototropic and they do not photosynthesis. The light is used to tell the mycellium that it has reacher the surface and that it is time for pinning. Correct lighting is essential for good pin formations. Several minutes a day is fine. As I said before, blue lights have just been shown to increase the amount of pinsets but a regular lightbulb will work fine. Personally, I set my terrarium near a window wil a saran wrap covered top so they receive about 8 hours of light a day at this time of year. Hope that helps.

are you talking about the ultra violet blue light
that you get aat the pet store??? i read about it
increasing THC content in weed but thought it might
hurt the funguys??? just curious
