well doing almost exactly what your describing ive had some of the best trips. I think alone is the best way to do it if you can handle it because you have enjoy the effects more. However my first solo trip i didnt have the best time, but it wasnt terrible either. I say try it and the more you do it the more comfortable youll be at solo trips. Oh and video games dont seem to be that great. I prefer laying staring at my cieling with only a small light on in my room.

for me playing games while tripping is impossible i cant understand anything the buttons or whats going on everything takes so long just for me it doesnt work out but movies are good music is good ive done solo trips before and there sick if everything goes well.

solo trips are the most useful trips for the spiritual development imo
i wouldn't watch tv or a movie.

I second the sensory depravation suggestion. I have a walk in closet in my room and on a couple of occasions I've gone in it, toked up, and chilled. About 15 minutes after toking up with my vape pipe *which is totally kick ass for hash btw* I start having awesome CEVs which aren't really CEVs anymore because I can see them with my eyes open The high turns into a trip very fast. I have yet to try it with shrooms because I have yet to be able to get my hands on some shrooms since I"ve been back for the summer....

I strongly prefer solo trips to group trips, but at one time it was the opposite. I think that once you start to trip solo, you will do it more often, and when you start doing it more often, then you ll prefer to do it given the choice. It's probably the same way with group trips though. If you only ever get to trip solo then get to trip with your buddies, then you ll start doing that more often, etc...
I suppose it all depends on what you're trying to get out of your trip.
Good time bonding with friends = group trip
Spiritual epiphany and becoming one with the universe = solo

ID do between 3 & 4.5gs. Great dose. For you, it shouldnt be too hard to handle (as you seem experienced enough to take care of yourself on that level). Its intense, but not overly heavy. Just right in my opinion.
My last solo trip was 4.5g's and consisted of:
EXTREME time distortion (i totally freaked out and thought that id gone through a time warp and landed in the previous day, but really, the TV was just showing re-runs of the shows that id watched the night before. REALLY weird that was. It wasnt freaky in a bad way though, got a good laugh out of it), discovered the inperfections of human eye-sight, united spirits with a walking stick, and learned the "weave" (martial arts stuff...).
A wonderful trip, couldnt have asked for more. It was inside too, and i was confined to a single room almost the whole time. I was suprised at how great the trip was.

I have always preferred to trip alone. I have eaten 14 grams on my own before. Although I have tripping 40+ times and know what I can and cant handle. Tripping on your own is much more spiritual, and you can allow yourself to indulge in the high, versus when u are with a group they just want to laff and have fun, and think u are wierd or make fun of u if u make a wierd face, or do some out right weird shit. On you own, will make you much happier, and you will experience some different things. Sitting in a pitch black room that is very quiet will do things to you that you never thought possible. For your first time, just do 3.5 grams or so. After that, increase your dosage until you reach your comfortable dosage. I usually eat 7 grams as a usual dose. Sometimes more, but never less.
