Massive amounts of albinos

My friends iguanna has observed some wierd shit. Almost 40% of all his shrooms are albinos. 20% have taken on wierd shapes, one has a shroom growing out of the cap of another. As far as the iguanna knows, the spores were taken from the regular PF variety. Does anybody have an explanation for this?

Alot of diffirent factors come into play with all the problems you've mentioned. It would be very helpful to give more info: strain, co2 level, humidity, temp, light, ect. Just to take a wide guess....I would have to say abort problems could be co2 levels, Strange looking shrooms could be light problems, and shrooms growing on shrooms could be high level of humidity.
Now like I said this is a very wide guess at your problems with the given info at hand, but it really could be completely oppisite. Good Luck

There were in a HIGH level of humidity, so much so that the Iguanna had to remove the cakes last night and let the tubs evaporate. Light is from a 4ft flourescent. The Iguannas friend has 40 dozen jars going at any given time and they haven't seen anything like it either. Infact that's where he got the spores. Beside the abnormalities, the iguannas yield seems to be quite high. I think he might have to take a trip to wonderland to sample the product.

How close is that light. Lights like that have 2 tubes right? If you have that thing to close you could have to much light. Thus, would explain for the strange looking shrooms. What strain are they and where did you get the spores from?

Well alot of people say that PF usually give off fucked up fruits. Like the ones you explain. So it could just be the strain.

The PF strain grown in less than optimal fruiting conditions, and sometimes anyway, will give off all types of shape shifters - usually the sporeless albino and sometimes the potent inverted-nipple albino - look out for those!!
B+ also gives off the occassional shape-shifter, such as the wavy-capped sporeless fruit...

I love those inverted nipple ones.  They are by far my favorites.  Too bad my clones all went south, I think I used to high a concentration of peroxide.  Ooops.

Anyway back to topic.  The PF strain has been cultured and recultured and grown out on the same substrate for soooo long that its definately showing signs of senscens(sp?)  The genetics of the mushroom are getting a little flaky :wink:.  Thats where you get your albino's and abhorts and siamese shrooms and inverted nipple shrooms.  The strain is turning into a freak show.  I think it won't be long before this strain becomes utterly useless.  I needs to be revived.

To be honest Johnny, i was talking from YOUR experience - I remember your post about the potency of those inverted nipple shroomies from PF Classic. :-)
Luckly, Ralphsters being nice enough to send me a print of those PF class. with these strange mutants appearing..cheers ralphster!!

I really wish I could have taken some succesful clones. I would have loved to hand these babies out. I took a few prints so I'll try and grow out a bunch and see if I can't find them inverted nipples again

A friend of mine has some PESA HAWAIN from Hawk Eye that has produced about 30% albinos. They only grow about 3 " high then the caps start to open. ' never seen many other strains act like this before.
