If you're joining Mensa to meet smart people, you can do that at the library for free.

A lot of haters out there. Do I detect some jealousy?

I haven't gone to any of our meetings yet, but I enjoy reading the journal. I currently live in a city dominated by a large university, so I'm always interacting with intelligent people. If I ever have to move, though, I predict I'll become more active.

As far as social skills go, that's an ongoing project.

Many of the people I've met on drug-related websites could easily get into Mensa. Every community has its share of snobs, but I doubt they make up the majority of any of them.

You seem like a fun person to hang out with.

I thought about joining too, so I could use it to get a better job without having a degree. I took a few of the short online tests and wonder if I would still score higher than Einstein on the real test.

I doubt having mensa on your application would be enormously helpful.

I doubt I'll ever fill out an application or write a resume, never have. But would be nice to meet smart people who would like you to work with/for them.

I do understand what most of you are saying, but I figure it really couldn't hurt. Could meet some interesting people... and if I don't like it I just won't go to the meetings.

I don't really like doing logic puzzles, but that's mainly because for the past few years I've always been too stoned to be able to stand them! I really just like to exchange ideas. That's why I like the shroomery! But I want a forum of real life people. I'd love to make it to some gatherings sometime, but it's not very practical unless they are right in my area.

I do admit though, that i've always been a bit of an intellectual elitist. I really can't stand dumb people! I breeze right through classes with 50% failure rates like General Chemistry when everyone else is like "i don't get it!" Ooh, those words piss me off!
