Trying to join Mensa!

I decided last week that I should join Mensa. I've taken three IQ tests in my life. On one I scored 132, another 142, and the other one I don't know what my score was, but it was high enough to get me into the gifted program in middle school.
There really is no reason for me NOT to join Mensa! I mean, I'll be able to meet people through something other than drugs. I'll be able to put on scholarship applications and shit. And I'll be part of an elite group and get to feel all high and mighty!
But the next opportunity to take the tests won't be until September, which I guess is good because it will give me time to let my brain recover from smoking so much damn pot, and time to practice meditating and getting my brain all pumped up for critical thinking.
I'd be really suprised... and pissed... if I didn't qualify. But I'm not really worried about it.
So are there any Mensans in the shroomery? I'm sure we've got a few...

there is no qualifying number, since IQ tests vary so much. So they require that you be in the top 2%. Numbers don't matter, as long as you are at the top of 98% of them...
Swami, huh? Yeah I think I remember him saying that too.... God he's such an argumentative, skeptical, cynical cocksucker! But I would love to have a real life conversation with him. It would be harder for him to pull the same loop-dee-loop bullshit tricks that are so easy to do while arguing on the internet.

I took the admissions test on a whim several years ago and "passed" so to speak. I joined and paid my dues for the journal or whatever, but stopped because I didn't see a point in paying any more money.
MENSA seems to self-congratulatory (and self-masturbatory as well) to me these days. I'm too broke and too self-loathing now

Mensa tests don't really test the verbal or social aspects of intelligence, they're more focused on math and logic. So being a mensa member doesn't necessarily mean that the person has good debating skills.

If it makes you feel better, go for it.
Again, we reach the debate of: What constitutes being "smart". Some say doing well in academics, some may say building a car engine from scratch, others may say being able to solve logic puzzles and joining mensa.
To each his own.

I don't think Swami is a member, though he could probably qualify. I think it's a club for ego building more than anything.

We should all start SUPER Mensa so we can make fun of REGULAR mensa.
