Marijuana A Few Decades From Now

What will it be like? Will it be superpotent shit that makes even the best modern hashish look like tar, or will it be mostly unchanged? Do you think they'll advance hydroponics and growing methods significantly, even to the point of being able to control the outcome of the bud unlike anything we do today, or will it simply just be the same green buds we've always smoked?

I think that we will get more potent herb, but not as good as hash/oil.

If you look at the bud from the 60s to the bud from now, I wasn't around to smoke the former but I hear some of it did compare to modern bud. The potential has risen, but not many people use it because it's not economic, so everyone gets mostly the same bud they've always gotten.

Perhaps the potential for bud will rise more, but I wonder if the black market average will. I think we'll develop better methods, but they'll be so new and expensive compared to the normal methods that they'll be used mostly for novelty purposes.

I can see it getting legalized in Canada, some parts of Europe and maybe even Brazil, but legalization in the U.S. seems to be a long time off. And as long as the U.S. is so against it, they'll constantly pressure everyone else to fight the demon weed too.

Maybe people discover more of its medicinal potential and use it in a more beneficial manner, or it might just be ignored and drowned out  :shrug:

I dont think it will change much, as long as the orignals are around(parent stock) there will just be new crosses.

Now with Genetic engineering and manipulating genes things could get real good :stoned:

actualy with all the corss breeding weed just gets less potant...
and as been mentioned the weed of the future would simply be easier to grow rather then better
unless of course we get some GE crosses that really are aimed for better THC content and medicinal use

as for the black market avrage... it will rise when the black market would have to make better weed if it wants to sell it (i bet the black market weed is MUCH better in canada then over here in israel simply becouse so many people KNOW what good weed is and in fact are able to get some... the price might be alot higher but the quality is SO diffrent as well)

Pot really hasn't increased in potency. Seeds of high potency strains are just more common now since you can order them. All of the strains today were bred together from the stuff people smoked in the 60s--ie.. AK47 is Thai X Colombian X Mexican X Mazar-i-Sharif Afghani. Good pot is just a lot more common than before. Genetically modified will be a completely different story when that happens...

Cross-breeding does not make the hybrid less potent--heard of hybrid vigor?
