Safe to swim? You be the judge.

So in a few weeks me and my friends are going to be camping at Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California. We will be doing massive amounts of tripping and snorkeling. My question is do you  guys think it is safe to snorkel(not too far from shore) on 1/8th of a gram of mushrooms. I'm pretty experienced with the fungus but have not tripped in 5 months(been doing acid instead). Any advice would be appreciated. :mushroom2:

1/8th of a gram = yes, probably.

Sorry i meant an 8th of an ounce. You must realize I've done at least 20 8th's in my 2 years of tripping. And im going to have a semi-sober snorkeling parter(s).

I would say it would be okay if you stay close to the shore. If you are adventuring then it could easily become dangerous. Make sure you look up often to see if you have drifted off from your original spot.

I've never found it a good idea to mix water sports with tripping. And I've done a ton of both. It is too easy to get careless when tripping and drownings happen a lot easier then people realize!

I would recommend daytime snorkeling while sober and evening/nighttime trips to discuss the days adventures.

Whatever your decision, be safe.

I like the idea of tripping after snorkeling alot. But i also want to see all the wonderful aquatic life with the unfiltered reality that the funus provides. I am also very familiar with the area I will be snorkeling at, if that means anything. Ive also swam in the ocean and in a pool on 300+mic's of acid. But mushrooms, as most of you know are a different story than LSD.

only you know whats safe for you man, do you think you can handle yourself? make sure someone is keeping a watchful eye on you just in case.

You know your abilities and limits better then anyone. Do what you feel is best. I wouldn't presume to say I know you well enough to say that you couldn't be safe. But it certainly has potential for danger. However, I've even heard of people tripping while scuba diving! I just can't imagine it is a good idea!

It seems to me that if you were really comfortable with it you'd have just said 'I'm gonna go snorkeling on shrooms!' but instead you asked for our opinions. I'd say that means you feel nervous about it. I think you want someone to talk you out of it because you don't think it's such a good idea yourself. A cool weed buzz should do you fine for the snorkeling. Maybe save the shrooms for a visit to really cool aquarium or something. Or just find a beautiful spot to chill out and trip with some tunes and stuff.

Just tie yourself to a floating tube or something with a rope long enough for you to go down as far as you want... just kind of a safety net. It will make you feel a whole let better about it, and if something does happen you have an easy way to help yourself.

that's cool!

I've snorkled while mildly hippy flipping
and had fun...

though, it's not quite as spectacular as
you'd think it would be...the shifting water
sures makes for fun.

I haven't even been in a pool stoned yet and couldn't imagine swimming around the bottom with a weird perception. I wouldn't recommend that. Sounds suicidal. I've heard of cave exploration but not the ocean.

If you do go on this adventure please tell me what happens. I would be highly interested in this trip report.

I personally wouldn't do it even th ough I am quite exerienced also. It's was too easy to zone out in space while you are tripping and not even know what's going on around you. It's much better to be in a controlled environment.
