Good parasols?

I'm pretty sure these are Lepiota rachoides [sp?] maybe procera; The gills are very light but I haven't gotten a definitive print yet. Should I only be ruling out the green-spored Lepiota? I can't come up with any other look-alikes, but there are so many of these guys around, I'd like to be sure.
Muchas gracias

Mmm, them's look tasty. A bit short for L.procera , probably L.rachodes. Don't know anything about green-spored Lepiotas. Are they an American species?

Sure look like rachodes to me--just like the ones I've been picking for the past week. Do they (1) stain reddish when cut thru the stem, (2) grow in a cool climate like PNW and (3) grow among vegetative debris (usually) under trees or bushes? If YES to the above, then they're rachodes for sure. The green-gills are more slender, grow in grassy areas, & favor warmer climates like California and SE states. Try spore-printing on black paper just to be sure. Spores should be white. Assuming these are L. rachodes (of which there is a 99.99% probability) they are a VERY good edible. Stems can be fibrous & woody like old asparagus & require long slow cooking to make them tender. Caps are delicate but high in water--sautee on high heat in an open skillet to render them down. Excellent in a stroganoff or a classic cream of mushroom soup. Bon appetit!

Yes, they stain red and have a white spore print [now my blue notebook will be forever marked!]. They weren't growing amongst debris as such, they looked very much like they were mycorhizal. I don't know my trees so I couldn't tell you what the 'host' was. Anyway, thanks guys, now it's time for some DUXELLES!

I cooked up some shaggy parasols last night. Damn they were tasty - sauted up with butter and a little garlic. Yum! You're gonna like 'em and nice find
