Cyans still coming
    #447304 - 11/05/01 12:29 AM (22 years, 4 months ago)

Found these little bouquets today in a discrete Seattle location that rhymes with Mallard Box. They were much thicker-stemmed than any I found in grassy areas. Substrate was almost like compact potting soil, very little woodchip material seen. Picking was quick and brutal, but there were lots of uniformed people running around.

At first I overlooked them, the individual bunches of furled caps looked like pinecones!

So the cyanescens season is still well underway, here's about half of last weekend's bounty, guarded zealously by the Green Lantern. Found in another discrete location that rhymes with 'piss lover me bark' :) . Cyanescens and semilanceata.

Blue Eggs and Ham, anyone?

very nice!~ God the sight of those flaming cyans gets me every time--it makes me feel all warm inside. I keep running over to my drawer and eyeing the two monstrous ones. I see you'll be doing the same!

NICE!!!!!!! Those are excellent phatass stemed clusters you got there buddy. I am curious as to your statement of finding semilanceata with another patch of cyans. Are you saying you are picking cyanescens and semilanceata in seattle????? from a garden???? Thats is pretty intense!

The semi's were not found in the same place, but were found on the same day. Had to go out of town for them :)

Never found semi's within the city limits.

Yea thats what i was gonna say, if you found cyans and semis growing together you would be one lucky motherfucker. Of course our good friend azurescen has a spot that he claims has them growing side by side, of course he keeps dragging his feet on taking me to them so i dont really believe him =)

Lcid, the horror of having a patch raped sometimes leaves me sleepless at night. Naah not quiet sleepless but i do have a deal of anxiety about having that happen, its a very bad time. I have or at least hope i still have patches that if someone stumbled apon would put me out of many many prime specimens which are but 1 day from picking. I can only pray that the army will be standing tomorrow.

I've successfully protected a few baby cyans by putting some leaf litter over them; They still develop OK, and only the most persistent rapist will find them.
Every sizeable patch I've found this year has had someone coming by for sloppy seconds. They take EVERYTHING, even sometimes a huge chunk of the substrate which really pisses me off. True myco-warriors make do with a single, solitary fucking woodchip [or clone].

Yeah, it's the Ballard Locks, I was trying to be ambiguous :)

I did NOT expect to find anything there, thus they appeared.

Mallard Box... [Re: Suntzu]
    #453821 - 11/10/01 09:50 AM (22 years, 3 months ago)

Mallard Box eh?

Seeing as how I live just a few blocks from a place I like to call "Bunset Goal", it pains me to think that shrooms are growing so close to home and yet I can't find them.

Maybe I spend too much time drinking at the "Hin Tat" and not enough time poking around in the dirt.

Being all covert and stuff is pretty cool.
