spore printing question

I have some shrooms that the viels just recently broke on. I have a few concerns:

When should I pick the mushroom?
Should I be concerned with keeping the gills clean now that it has opened up?
Should I let it sporulate for 2 hours or so first on a peice of paper to drop any possibly "contaminated" spores and then take a clean print after that?

Once it is obviously sporulating. Look for spore deposits on the stem and/or veil remnants.

Not much you can do to keep them clean, just make sure not to touch them.

Not a bad idea, but I've never bothered, without any probs.

Ok. I just really need/want a clean print. I've exausted all the spores of this strain and I need to get some back.
