Na, I'm really light on philosophical books. Plus I spend waaaay to much time in forums such as these. Do you recommend it? If so, with the recommendation coming from you I'd read it.

I really got A LOT out of it.  You see, I had this shroom trip about 14 months ago that really threw me for a loop.  My first time with five grams...and it just totally crushed me.  The ego-death was very painful.  I let go for about half of it, but then something freaked me out and I started to fight like hell.  That trip really altered me.

Anyway, a year later, I get this book, recommended from other shroomers here at the Shroomery.  I read it, and it's like, "whoa," this author is writing down in perfect detail all the realizations I had on that crazy trip.  Like...to a "T".  All the things that I've "known" that I haven't really been able to fully integrate yet and put into words.  And the author does this with such clarity.  I went into the book with skepticism (talk to God? righhhhttt) but I came out with a very intense spiritual experience.

So suddenly EVERYTHING is clicking and I owe it in part to this book.

You definitely don't need psychedelics to trip balls.

I very much agree with this.

Has anyone noticed after learning something it suddenly starts to make itself apparent in our worlds? It's odd... I notice it most with vocabulary when I learn a new word it seems as if it never existed before and then it's used all the time by others around me. It's like we all discovered it at the same time.

I don't know why I thought that was relevant but I don't feel like deleting it either.

Speaking of collective intelligence, I've only heard of one test but it was in my psychology book, and it was cool.

Basically they gave two groups of people some crossword puzzles. All these people say they do crossword puzzles often.

They gave one group a brand new puzzle, and then they gave the OTHER group a puzzle that had been done by thousands of people already. And the one that had been done thousands of times went by with much less effort.

Sounds interesting enough..don't know what to make of it. It's a pretty specific example.
