Your prints seem to have a tinge of brown in them, whatever that means judging from a computer screen...I think you have foens there my friend.
Nice pictures.

Hey wallace.
Prints are totally black. I'll try to find a better pic. Also blued on large part of stem and slightly on cap.
thanks about the pics.

Those are pan foes. I think you may have some subbs, but if you did not make 1000 threads maybe I could figure this shit out what you really have. next time just make one thread with all the pictures and similar mushrooms grouped in a shot.

this is an enlargement of the print in photoshop.

it seems to show a purplish tint, which could put this as a Psilocybe.

More likely an artifact from the camera or the image compression.

hmm.... yeah, my guess are subbs. but at the same time... they could be foes...

I'm fairly certain they are neither subbs or foes. As to what they are...

those prints are unquestionably black. this combined with the uneven sporulation on the gill surface and the overall aspect of the specimens points to Panaeolus as the genus.

i worked with Photoshop to enhance photos #2 and #4 and could find no evidence of blueing.

i have found mushrooms verry similar to these many times. some of them did bruise slightly blue in a specimen or two from a given collection and i settled with Panaeolus castaneifolius for the identification.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Thanks alot for your help.
Thanks very interesting.
Reading some of the descriptions of Panaeolus castaneifolius it certainly seems like it could be it.
this picture in particular does resemble what I have found ( other than the picture being sorta washed out and whitened)

There does seem to be a wide variety of looks of the specimens that you can find presented under Panaeolus castaneifolius though so it's a tad confusing.

thanks again

i believe it was GGreatOne234 who had been finding in his area [florida if indeed it was him] reocurring fruitings of a mushroom somewhat matching the petite morphology of your collections wich he ditermined to be a variant of the beforementioned species. you should do a search for posts of his findings if you are interested in looking into it.

gg: if you read this, let me know if this isn't accurate.
