Welcome to Virginia! 2nd in series of Posts of VA finds Pics. help.

ok. here is the second post. B. Again these were found in northern virginia, usa on a grass lawn.


stem- 3-4 inches darker at base, lightening to top.
caps- 1/2 inch to 1 1/4 inch. not as pale as A (see previous post) umbonate to broad with age.
gills- black with gray edges. do not extend below margin. deeply notched. (note difference with A of previous post)




blues on cap and base of stem.
prints black

again. any ideas?

let me explain it to you. Look at this picture



Black gills( as opposed to brown) Lines on the stem where it joins cap( as opposed to none) Twisty stems(le ditto)

Now, you are a foremost expert on subbs! Capiche

What about the deeply notched gills? is that something you find in subbs? The multiple threads are to address in an organized manner the variety of my questions. I thought is was better than cramming everything into one post. is this a bad idea?
