No way Vulture.  Ott is in his own class of brilliance.

Posford and Ott have done a few tracks together.  Under the name Gargoyles.  Some pretty cool songs.  Checkout the song called Evil Do'ers.  Ott has his wicked melodica going beautifully on the track.

When I first listened to the album in full, it took me awhile to get into it, I still heard the brilliance of Simon wrapped into it, but like everyone else I was hoping for something ground breaking....and that was my bad for doing that, shpongle is sphongle...it is what it is, GREAT MUSIC...it will never be as ground breaking as "Are You Shpongled" because that's already been released, but since then the music has continued to explore new avenues. The only thing that really bothered me with the album is the way all the songs were cut up into smaller segments....i didn't care for that really. So i took it upon myself to combine the 3rd album into 8 songs which was difficult to do, but i like it more this way.....it's more like shpongle to me.

I was very excited to hear the new album.

With "nothing lasts" you have to view and listen to the album as a whole. In my opinion it wasn't meant to be listened to track to track.Although the first two were the same way,the only thing mixing the tracks into the next track on the first two albums were usually noises of some sort.ie..water dripping, spiraling sounds ect..But with nothing lasts it seems that each song actually "mixes" into the next one and so for example you cant listen to track 2 and 8 without listening to tracks 12 and 5.

It seems after one or two albums from an artist are released the second album or third one seem to get criticized by some listeners. Some people expect to hear something along the same lines as the previous. But IMHO that would be even worse to hear a pretty much remixed version of tracks from earlier albums.

Anyway I'm just ranting..To each his own view of tunes..Have a wonderful evening everyone..
