well i didn't mean Mtv stuff,
they are just popular.you can find them in big record shops now.i'm not saying there is smthing wrong with that,
its just me.

Definately not as ground-breaking as the first 2, but it's pretty awesome nonetheless, IMO. I like how the entire album flows verry well and like someone else pointed out, there's a heavy 'world' feel, which I love. Could of used some more live drumming, perhaps. I dunno, I havn't listened to it too much... only when I have enough time to sit through the entire thing, because well, it's just one of those albums. :smile:

I understand your sentiments, butterfly.

It kind of sucks to feel Shpongle becoming such a cliche as it grows in popularity. Namely amongst people who lay their mysticism on thick and cheesy.

On the other hand, I want it to get the play it deserves, and to continue to attract listeners.

I am not disappointed with Nothing Lasts. The music will always be good, but sometimes I feel it's sort of becoming another Tool sort of thing (no offense to Tool fans) that people levitate toward it and create an institutionalization out of it... and just make it very.. ignorant.

Admittedly, I think about it at times, but it's not a big deal.

What other people do with the music is irrelevant to me.

I wasn't too excited with it 'til I tripped to it, then the 'When will I be Free' song really caught my attention.. It's a great album, it just takes some listening to.. I agree that there is nothing as good as the DMT/LSD song on it, but C'est la Vie..

yeah i have yet to see it as any record stores around here.

one place never herd of it and couldent even order it for me.

the other place had the old albums ever since i got them to order me some...but the new album is yet to show its face on there computers.

OK, I had a chance to sit down and listen to it on the good stereo at hame and when I was in a chill mood and it sounded 100% better. I notice that with the others too. A good stereo or headphones can make all the difference. Not to mention you have to be in the mood for it. I would be realy good trippin I think.

I give it a big  :thumbup: and I do enjoy it better than the other albums.  Track 2 sounds sick on a nice stereo.

I still havent listened to it. Waiting for the right time for the opening session to this cd. I havent got too high expectations but I'm still excited.

Are You Shpongled is still their masterpiece.  Listened to it last night.  Nothing Lasts doesn't even come close.  Just my humble opinion.  :grin:

i felt exectly like you stefan
and the second time around made me feel even worse

i think this third album sounds a little like a "dry well" it's like they took all the good things out of the first two albums and mashed them togather actully more like pasted them togather (a mash would've been better)

the music does not have enought time to BE anything its just hanging around saying "look a can do this and that and this and that" but not much more...
certenly not the inspiration i was hoping for (as with the first two)
i might even dare to say a little too "pleasing the mass" sort of album which is VERY sad indeed

though i only listened to it twice so far... it might grow on me yet but i doubt i'll ever get as much as a did from the first two!

has anyone heard one of simon posford's side project albums: younger brother - a flock of beeps

it's more reminiscent of older shpongle material, for all the people not really enjoying the new album i suggest checking it out
