hi all, i was just wondering if the girl population of musicians is rising yet. ive always been on the look out for a cutie that adored music the way i do. but i gave up on that. doesnt hurt to ask or does it? :heart:

Singing is music. You dont neccesarily need an instrument in your hands to be labled a musician.

the correct term for people who play instruments are "instrumentalists" or "-ist", as in violoinist, or guitarist, or bassists, drummer, etc.

what do you call a girl who quits guitar? a bassist.

I caught a moment of an interview on TV where Mariah Carey said she writes all of her own songs. Does that mean she's a good musician? (I tend to think not, but that's just my personal bias sneaking out.) Are we talking about ability or personal preferences? One could say that it takes talent to put songs together that have any kind of mass appeal. I don't know where I'm going with this, just thinking out loud.
