All this civilian-killing isn't doing them any good.

On the contrary...I think we are playing into their hands exactly the way they want us to.

Look at Spain: they set off a few bombs, and get EXACTLY what they want - Spain pulls out of Iraq.

Look at 9/11: they attack our freedom, and we respond by making moves towards a police state

I think they also understand that by attacking the UK and US, both countries with immense military power, these countries will over-react and step up their "punishment" of Muslims in the Mid East. That will, in turn, result in more resentment of these countries...which in turn will result in more terrorists, more attacks, and the cycle completes full-circle :frown:

Why would terrorists intentionally cause harm to their home countries, if they are indeed Muslim?

They KNOW that the UK or US isn't going to pull out of the Middle East. They have too much invested in there, and having 50 or whatever civilians die is not going to change their mind.

activism happens when the majority wants their voices heard.

terrorism happens when a minority wants their oppinion to be heard, but their oppinions are stupid and their goals vague and selfish... being ignored they exist by causing trouble.
the world revolves around terrorism and therefore the terrorist. right now they feel like kings.

why i wonder, do terrorits always act in sporadic episodes.

i think it would befarmore effective for the vague and selfish goal to conduct an all out seige on normalicy.

like a cluster of bombings here then a water upply poisoned there, some anthrax released in a corperate office, major structural damage to important bridges, tunnels, cathedrals, etc.

people dispite their claims, as a whole do not care if strangers die. they do not become particularly afraid of terrorism because terrorist kill people.
terrorism would be far more effective if the terrorits effected more people on a less-destructive level. sickening and inconveniencing people. initiating disease, stuff like that.

my point? one day someone else is going to think of that and bombing will just be a part of the formula, and not the hallmark.

I fear the most that this most sad issue will be exploited and utilized to shun in biometric ID cards, now that the 'threat' is vivid in everyones minds, and still shall not oppose the introduction of these highly personally intrusive cards, nor realise the travesty of their civil rights being undermined.

If they KNOW that nothing they do will cause the US/UK to pull out and cease military action...then they must be performing their terrorist acts for a different reason.

Wow, what perfect timing. Right after announcing the olympics and right as the G8 summit is happening. Perfect oppurtunity to show all the leaders gathering around Blair showing their full support. Absolutley perfect. And now the US terror alert is raised. While I feel totally sympathy for all of London, this shit, in the bigger picture pisses me off.

Adamist is right. Just another step taken by Big Brother. Can't wait to hear what Alex Jones says about this one.

As far as I know, any brit who has left the UK has a passport.

damn they raised the terror alert in the u.s.?

i saw this whole thing on the news as i woke up this morning in milwauee. what im always supprised by is that the explosions were few and relatively small. i mean in reality they could have gone much bigger.... im glad they didnt though.
why cant we all just get along

Would it be easier for a bunch of radical Muslim's to smuggle explosives into Britan
