Bruised cakes

So, long story short a person down the street was a moron and accidentally dropped the drip guard (being made of plexiglass) across some MMGG style cakes and bruised them up pretty badly. He is 100% certain it's a bruise -- he dropped the guard and you can see the blue crease mark across some of them.

It seems a side effect turned most of the pins into black tipped abhorts at a ridiculously small size.

What should the guy down the street do? I would theorize he should pick the abhorts ASAP and hope for a 2nd flush, but that's just a guess.
