my gf woke me up last night and we split about 18 cartridges, like i was telling everyone in another thread, i got this bad boy for 50 cents


dont use balloons, just straight from the tank, it's way better than a baloon, and wont freeze your lungs or anything, cause the tank warms it up.

medical grade from a tank is so much better than the food grade, which is pretty good, but the medical grade just seems that much purer

What you're noticing with medical grade N2O is the added 21% oxygen. Breathing 0% oxygen is unpleasant and kills brain cells by the millions with each breath; not to mention that it can cause cardiac arrest if you're on the far side of 40 years old or so.

Get yourself a scuba cylinder with oxygen if you can at all afford it before you do whippits.

oh really? that is sad to hear, I never knew you could die off of N2O... but I hardly use the shit every often..really... I don't...I bought a few boxes a few months back..and haven't bought them since..I just got out of the mood.. :smirk:

they cant really mix it in the tank...... well not that i have eard of the 2 different gasses have different charcteristics. compressing the 2 togeather one would be heavier and one woule be lighter, not to mention that they liquify at different pressures... one would sit on top of another.

so no i doubt that they are ever mixed in a tank..... it wouldnt work its mixed togeather with regulators and such at the time of use.

i actualy have a o2 tank for glass blowing, you think that would work? it's for welding and such, and the guy at the gas place said that the only difference between medical grade o2 and the stuff you use for welding is the documentation on the tanks... cause they keep track of all the stuff they do with the tank.

You're right. They're not mixed in the tank because N2O liquifaction occurs at a few hundred PSI, but oxygen doesn't liquefy at room temperature unless it's compressed to impractical pressures.

The mixing in a medical contexts is at a demand regulator.

Technically, O2 intended for human consumption has to be tested and certified 5-nines pure, however, in practice, all O2 is filled from the same source; one giant cryogenic dewar.

For many years, before oxygen was available at scuba shops, I used welding oxygen during decompression dives. Never had a problem.

I kinda think you could get a EPA type 4 certification right now..ck ratings
Ive had mine since 1992 and really dont know that much but i know not to suck straight nitrous....**throws hands in air thats breathable

Hmm... I dunno.

The only thing I can think of is that it's cleaner. If you ever use a whippit cracker (the three brass things in my pic above), you'll notice a greasy residue build up inside the cracker after about 100 cartridges.

Even though they're intended for making food (whipped cream), there's probably some lower threshold of contaminants allowed. I know from experience with many thousands of whippits that some brands have less of this residue than others. ISI seems to be the best.

my whip-its actually say that the gas inside of them is medical gradee....

a problem with sucking gas from a tank is that its so damn dry.... no moisture at all.. not good for the throat.

im going to go suck 2 down right now, hahahahahahah then im oging to go and gamble in joliet

oh and yeah the glass blowing tanks and the medical tanks are really the same, 99.997 pure i have sucked my tanks before from praxair and from lindie and formsome other company its all good
