I played 'tourist' last night

Last night me and a buddy decided to do something I rarely do in this town, we went to the Strip and partied like a couple of drunk tourists.  Walked up and down until we ended up at a spot where they have a big open air bar right in front of Harrah's.  Watched a live band, drank too many rum-n-cokes, and met a bunch of people.  Some crazy group of scottish dudes were running around in their kilts and lots of drunk tourist chicks were trying to hook up with any guy who would have them.  Every time I turned around my buddy was sucking face with some different chick!  It was pretty funny.

Living here I often forget why people come to this town.  Every once in a while its good for me to have a night like last night to remind me why Vegas is such a vacation destination.  Just take every vacation resort you've ever been to and cram them all onto one street and you have Las Vegas.  And people really do seem to leave their inhibitions behind when they come here.  Everyone is doing everything to excess it seems.  After all, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? :smirk:

Tourists are funny.

i don't think i could stand to live in a 'tourist-town'. i mean, here we have quite a few tourists (mostly dutch and german), but the town most certainly isn't set up as a 'tourist-spot.' i've never been to vegas, but places like (most of) amsterdam, cancun, and montego bay seem to lose their own culture, and just pick up this plastic gift-shop touristy bullshit (not to mention being filled with drunken coeds looking to have sex they probably won't remember the next day. is it a good thing or a bad thing, ehh i guess both - but i most certaintly wouldn't call it humanity acting its finest). it aggravates me to be in such a place, and i try to travel more off the beaten path to avoid them...

Yeah, when you live in Vegas you really don't see the tourist side of things. I rarely go anywhere near the Strip and I don't gamble. And I live on the edge of town. I'm closer to wilderness areas then I am to the casinos. Its really just like any other place when you live here. Except nothing ever closes. You can go grocery shopping at 3AM if you want to and there is never a 'last call' at a bar.

But every once in a while I have a night like last night just to remind me of where I am, otherwise I sometimes forget.

i dunno. really, it doesn't (and most certainly isn't).

i know learyfan will bust in here and say it is just societal/religious conditioning, but the best sex i've had has been with somebody i was in love with (at the time :grin: ). of course, drunken booty madness is fun in it's own right - but pales in comparison to the former.

it's like, once you've smoked the dankest of the dank, schwag just doesn't get you that high.

I hear ya.

I just dont think you can really compare in-love sex with hookup-sex - apples and oranges. one is more emotional and the other is straight up physical. they both have great potential, in my opinion.

I just think there is something totally honest about fucking a stranger - both people are going against religious and social mores and basically saying fuck the rules "I just want some unattached pleasure right now." that is not to say in-love sex isnt good - it's just another thing.

of course, I'd rather be in love and exclusive, but when I want some pancakes and all I can get is an omlette, I aint turning that down :thumbup:

But you have to admit, if you had no dank you'd be happy to get some schwag. :grin: I'm lucky enough to have the dank at home.  But had I not been a married man it would've been almost too easy to get laid last night!
