They are the same. I stopped going to school in 10th grade, and got my GED 4 years later. High school is pointless drama. I am so glad I was able to spend those years traveling and living it up and not being brainwashed by the school system. I highly reccomend dropping out of high school and creating your OWN reality.

what does HS have to do with reality? HS is about learning how to deal with people, not just the education and brainwashing.

That's true but I didn't like how the school tried to force me into believing that reality had to be a certain way. I felt like I was a robot being programmed to function and behave like they wanted me to. A way that would keep me down, uninspired and in their control. I learned how to deal with people out in the real world. I learned about myself and life and what it was all about for me. I am thankful for that, but I guess I should not of reccomended that because everyone is different. To each their own..... :sun:

The GED is 8th grade level.

The reason it is equivalent to 12th grade level is
a)many high schools dont teach much past an 8th grade level
b)some people cant graduate high school, but if they dont get a diploma that would hurt there feelings and be insensitive. thus the GED makes them feel good, and portrays them as a high school graduate even though they didnt.

BTW I dont have a high school diploma i have a GED. I dropped out in 9th grade and when I got my GED I was no where near high school equivalence.

I dropped out and got my GED also, but only because I wanted to start college right away. I was in home school getting straight A's. BOOYAH.

Hm...it is weird but my impressions were that the GED was harder to get and required more knowledge. The test I glanced at (a friend was taking it) had a ton of stuff like algebra and trigonometry. In my high school it was possible to never learn that stuff and graduate.

In fact, I slept through most of high school. I didn't learn a thing.

I didnt take algebra or trig until collage. The GED only had arithmetic and the simplest algebra.

Many high schools do graduate people who dont learn anything.
