    #4246977 - 06/02/05 06:07 AM (11 years, 7 months ago)

Hello fellow mushroom fanciers .

I came across a bracket fungi much like Ganoderma applanatum/lucidum and basically I want to turn its innards into tea .(its old, so the brown-ness stops me from knowing what colours she had as a baby)
If you know of any deadly shelf shrooms then please tell me .
I could take a pic if needed .
Oh how I love mushrooms .:smirk:Any help would be heartily welcomed  .
Thanking yee .

Nee sheung khur ediar char ma .

I don't have a specific answer, but I suggest that you get some pictures, follow the guidelines in this thread, and make a post in the hunting forum about it.

a teacher of mine once told me that the polypore's or shelf fungi were great ones to first get into because there were no poisonious ones.... though if the mushroom is old i would be careful, you really only want to be using fresh live mushrooms  that were dried in their prime for any medicinal purpose
post a pic i love pics!!

Correct. There are no known poisonous species of polypore.

I dont think I'd want to eat something that old and decayed. It looks rotten. Here's a tree with a few. I'm at the very bottom of the picture in the brush pointing up at the polypores. Look at the one near the top of the picture. It was about 36" in diameter. The rest were in the 10" to 12" inch range.
