i had the same problem with my current batch of B+'s, 2 out of 10 jars didnt fully colonize so i let them sit for a week past the other ones until i finally just scraped off the uncolonized parts and dunked them and rolled them....

btw.... dunk and roll religiously, it increased the fruiting of my cakes by about 200%

yea about the dunking and rolling, I did it for the 3 cakes I birthed
but I didnt do it for the 2 cakes I crumbled for the casing
I figured theres not much need in dunking before casing although theoretically speaking it can probably help bring back water content and make an easier life for the casing.

anyway, you think I should make tea from this semi-colonized cake ?
im thinking about doing it right now :smile:

i have never even heard of people boiling the cakes and tripping off it. I didnt even think mycellium had any psychoactive properties. I could be wrong, im no grow master by any means. If I were you I would hope that it keeps growing, or cut it off and fruit it. Most of the myc i see on that pic is really healthy and thick and should yeild a good amoutn of mushrooms. The two i cut almost in half have already had two flushes and have grown about 8 dried grams each so far.

There are TEk's for extracting the magic from mycelium. I wouldn't attempt this unless I was certain the cake wasn't contaminated. From your pic, little blurry, I can't really tell.
I have to agree that P.E.'s are a very potent strain. I just harvested a small casing of two BRF cakes last month. Mine too where on the small side also.



Had a nice flush though.



Getting ready to harvest my first poo of P.E. This was one 1/2 pint BRF cake spawned to poo.



Not the greatest pinset, but you can definitely see the increase in size.

As far as getting a spore print, I believe only 10% of these drop spores. I let my first crop mature a few days past harvesting time hoping to see a spore and didn't. Maybe this is due to the fact that P.E.s are a mutant strain. If you want a good way to keep this strain in your collection I would recommend a LC.

As you can see, these gills are not very heavy or dark with spores.




All considered though, even being a mutant, I really recommend this strain to everybody as I found it to be the most enjoyable strain I have experienced.

Whoa, I must say I have seen your work around the shroomery, and it is very high quality indeed. very nice flushes, though whats the deal with the half coffee container thing just something you found lying around or do you find it to have special qualities ? :smile:

BTW I cant really figure out the size of your yield from the pictures
what is the average size of the mushrooms from the big flush ?
also, how many do you think I should eat to get level 3-4 from your experience, or even forget the levels thing, how much P.E do i need to consume to have a really good time... ? :smile: (i mean fresh mushrooms)

Hey, that first flush off a 2 BRF casing was 150 grams wet. The other casings are spawned poo that will probably be harvested in the next couple days. Around 35 grams wet should get you where you want to go. Thanks for the kind words. I try,lol. They're just something I had lying around.

Hippie chick what casing tek do you use? Those are sick results off two BRF cakes. Do you crumble and case? Straight verm? Details detailsss. Peace.

Crumbled cakes, Crumbled about pea size. 1/2" verm in bottom, cased with 60/40 verm coir with about 4% by volume crushed oyster shell.

Do you patch? Or do you not bother? Also do you see the crushed oyster shell ever make a difference? And do you microwave sterilize your casing mix or PC it? Sorry for the Q's my friend's trying to perfect the art. :P

Hey, I patch after harvesting. Crushed oyster shell won't make a difference with a coir casing unless you make it to three plus flushes. I try to keep 1/2 gallons of PC'ed casing mix on hand, but do microwave it when in a bind, like now,lol. Gonna be casing 100 pounds of poo spawn here shortly.

Hey guys, whats up ?
so I got this project coming to the end of the 1st flush I think...
im gonna harvest the guys like tommorow or maybe Thursday and eat them fresh on thursday noon...
but I just have a couple of questions - in the picture , the two guys in the center have these black stains near the cap - I guess it means theyre sporulating which i dont really care about because the spore prints are going to be so small im not even going to bother
and in the top left corner of the picture you can see one shroom that has these strange spots on the bottom ... contams or just nothing ? please help ... thanks

gj man. was that ur first flush? dunk and roll those beeyatches for the next flush. fan and mist frequently if you dont have a pmp.ur fruiting chamber looks kind of funky so i assume u need to fan and mist. hopfully u get bigger guys next flush. glad u had a good trip!

Nice job. PE's are are fantastic strain to trip on. If you let them mature, it won't make a difference in potency. They'll just taste a little more bitter when eating them. Allow them to grow until the caps are wide open. This way you'll get the most out've yield for your crop.  :thumbup:

Im a noob, but in the pics it looks like the cakes are directly sitting on the perlite, maybe i just cant see the lids of the jars. And im guessing to get the caps bigger and growth more structured you would add a small light, like i think you can get a tiny 15watt bulb and fitting in a pet shop for like $20 and just put it into the top of the bag? and put it on for a few hours a day? Is it better to have bigger stems then caps or make no difference?
