new age scary movies. Something like the ring, grudge, death.com I think it's called, ahhh I can't think of anymore oh yea and I just got done watching white noise. I don't know what my point is, just something to talk about I suppose

The original Scream was one of the better horror flicks of the 90's, but the crappy knock-offs & sequels it spawned diminish it's quality.

gotta remember you arent at the age where scary movies affect you really. I think most people in here can say chucky and any late 80's early 90's horror movie scared the shit out of you (if you were anywhere from 8-13 then), now if you look back at them, they are just funny, but not bad because you had a moment with them at one point.
Im sure there will be kids who in a few years will talk about how scary "the ring" was.

Dawn of the dead was the only movie made in the last ten years that scared the fuck out of me. And I'm 20.

The Blair Witch Project was pretty amazing too when it first came out and all the hype was on it.

There is some definite truth to what you are saying. I was much more scared of Freddy when I was 9 than I am now.

However, you have to realize that most of those pre-1990 horror films were rated 'R', which meant that they were more graphic, more violent, and more intense than what you see these days. All those Ring, Grudge, and Darkness type films are rated 'PG-13'. They just lose some impact. The films producers have taken the extra "kick" out of horror movies to allow for a younger demograph to go see them in the theater, thus increasing box office yield. It sucks.

Most horror movies now adays are all about the god damn special effects....Come to think of it pretty much all new movies are....When will they learn.

When it came out, my friends and I saw the Blair Witch, and then later that evening we went camping.

I ate a few hits of acid, and was tripping balls. My one friend kept talking about that movie, and I started hearing freaky shit in the woods. It was kinda scary.
