God damn it, I guess the rumors were true. I had my tix to Alpine and was VERY excited to say the least.  :thumbdown:

he producers of the ZOOMA Tour regret to announce that this summer?s Tour has been canceled. Ticket refunds for all dates will be given through the outlets where the tickets were purchased.
The Zooma Tour was conceived to provide fans with an exceptional musical and entertainment experience. Due to unforeseen circumstances, it has become clear that it would not be possible to provide that experience at the level initially envisioned. Rather than go forward with a tour that falls short of what was conceived, everyone involved has mutually agreed that it is best to cancel the tour altogether.
We want to thank all of the fans for their support and the tour?s staff for their dedication and hard work on this project. We look forward to exploring new and exciting opportunities in the future.
If you purchased your tickets through Trey Anastasio or Ben Harper ticketing pre-sales, the card you placed your order with will automatically be refunded for ticket face value plus all other service and shipping charges. Refunds will begin Friday May 27 and continue until June 2nd. Once the refund is processed you will automatically receive and email confirmation. Please note: it can take up to 2 business days for the refund to show up on your account. If you have any questions, please e-mail tix@musictoday.com
If you purchased your ticket(s) through TicketMaster via phone or internet the credit card you used will be automatically refunded. If you purchased from the venue box office or a TicketMaster outlet you must return the ticket to the point of purchase for a refund. Face value plus service charges will be refunded (handling and delivery charges will not be refunded).

Hmmm. This actually helps me out because I was trying to decide over two different events that were gonna happen on the same weekend: Zooma at Alpine and a three day rave in a cave in southern Illinois that my friend is putting together:

I guess I know what I'm going to. Wasn't too excited about Trey or Ben Harper but I like the whole Alpine Valley experience. I hope there'll be some concert worth going to there this summer.

Well, apparently Trey and 70VP are going to do another summer tour. Dates haven't been announced yet, but I will def. see a show or two.

I'm glad it got cancelled, they were chargin way too much for tix, serves'em right.  Allman Bros is doing the same thing and keeping me from seeing moe. as much as I normally would.

If there were indeed a lack of ticket sales, I'd bet the jacked prices are why.  Ticket sales get pretty ridiculous with some of these super-star 'heady' acts.  I prefer the lower-profile shows/festivals with just as much if not more talent and less zoo-like atomospheres, atlho the spectacle of festivals like bonnaroo own rights to its novelty.  Just not my bag of chips :smile:  Check out the fest in my sig.

I think that people like myself knew these shows weren't gonna sell out and saw no reason to buy a ticket way in advance. I have a feeling these shows would have been profitable in the end but I guess they didn't want to take that gamble.

$32 for a lawn ticket at the Tweeter Center in Camden....

fuck that. thats why ticket prices are bad...because the prices are outrageous

That sucks balls! It does serve them right for charging so much for tickets, though. It is just like Lollapalooza, last year. It sucked really bad about Lollapalooza, though, because the artist line-up was the best in years. :thumbdown:
