black beetles in grow room

A friend of mine has been raving on and on about his pot plants lately, but when I asked him about them today he said he was worried because he kept finding these pretty large black beetles in his grow room. He says they're about the size of a dime and that he hasn't seen them on the pots/soil/plants but always running around the room. I told him I would try to find an answer but I couldn't find anything about black beetles when reading around about infestations. Are these black beetles going to be a problem, and if so what is the solution? Thanks!

dont think they will.
if they ate plants u should be seeing some munching and half eaten leafs n stuff.
take a look to see if your plants have a parasite infection of some kind. beatles like that often eat smaller insects...
