75% colonization,now what?? advice please...

AFOAF's jars are 75% colonized, should he


a) untape them
b) flip them over
c) loosen lids
d) all of the above
e) none of the above


what about contams? arnt some of these options leaving the cake open for contams??

Untape them, flip them over to expell the Co2 then flip them back over. (Co2 is heavier than air) NO need to loosen the lids unless you see problems. (too wet, stalled growth)

i like to remove the tape and keep em flipped over after 50 to 80 percent

I was thinking of that idea, once the myc covers the top of the substrate then i was thinking about flipping my jars so the CO2 would just always flow out. but then i also heard that an increase of O2 is an indication of pinning so im not sure where to go with this one. i know its not a horrible thing to have pins forming in jars obviously but i dunno. mbe ill just have to try it. ces, do you normally see pins in your jars before birthing? if so how often/many?

i honestly dont ever seem to get pinning before i birth but i have only gone through about 4 syringes and i think early pinning can be a characteristic of certain strains, someone correct me if im wrong.
