Yes, I would say being addicted to a girl is much more healthy than alcohol. That's the only thing I'm addicted to as of now.

I guess addiction transference is K3Y? Thing is man, she keeps playing all these silly online games(signing off w/o saying goodbye etc),I really don't know how much of this shit i can take but, i'm in for the long haul win or lose cauz i really do care about her that much :yesnod:

Me too...I still regret some of the stuff I've done while drunk.  I had to quit otherwise I'd be in a bad place right now.  I quit for about 6 months, not a single drink as I tried to reform my life. 

Now I've gotten to the point (for the most part) where I can get drunk and stay in control.  I only drink once every 1-2 weeks and only with friends to be social.  Alcohol makes me very sick (hangovers last for days) so I guess that's a huge deterrant as well.

ya ive gone thru that too.. it can be hard at first to get used to sober living but not impossible and eventually you?ll prolly thank yourself for doing it..

I can relate to your situation, I'm 47 and started abusing at around 13 years old.

I still do a few things but have cut out all hard drugs for the most part.

It's harder when your alone you need to surround yourself with people who are supportive and understand your situation.

Try a N.A. group and get yourself moving in a positive direction, you'll find that your not at all alone, and remember that your friends here are always here for you too!

Keep the faith brother, you'll pull out. I've been at rock bottom so many times, and each time I eventually pulled out. Once things were better I was really glad that I didn't kill myself, if you abort your life who knows what you'll miss out on.  :heart: :hug: :sun:

Yeah dude. NA works for people who are really ready to make an honest attempt at staying clean. I am forced to attend because of court order but I do see that it works for many people and one thing is that you have to stay vigilant there are guys in there that have been clean like ten years and one day the idea pops up to use and they go out and score and their back down in the dumps withing a week. You just need to form a support group of people who understand what you are trying to do that is what NA is good for if you don't have much family or clean friends. Good luck and Take Care dude.
