Enter the Dragon...

I'm 54 years old, and I was in San Francisco in 1967, during the Summer of Love. So you just *might* figure that I could know something about Entheogens...
That was the year I first became interested in Eastern & Western Metaphysics & Occultism... which means that I have 38 years of study & practice in those areas, and a working knowledge of how those things operate.
In 1969 I began studying the I Ching, and at the moment I have about 2/3 of my conceptual translation up on my website in a barebones version. In 1973 I began practicing the Hwa Yu Tai Chi Kung Fu under the direction of Grandmaster John Chung Li in Boston. See why I refer to myself as a Dragon?
In 1970 when I started college in Boston, I was blessed to meet Karmu, the Holy One. By day he was a mundane auto mechanic, named Edgar Warner, but at night he was a respected RootMan, and Healer. He taught me about Massage, but more importantly, he taught me to love people. He would give anyone entering his house a definate plus element. He would tell people about how wonderful they were, until they began to believe it themselves, and act like wonderful people. Although he was not an educated man, he was beloved by people of all walks of life. Among his friends was Baba Ram Dass, (Richard Alpert, Timothy Leary's associate), who was a frequent visitor...
One thing I'd like to say about this board right off, is that that is the best set of Posticon thread headers I've seen anywhere

Welcome man. We need more intelligent and experienced people like you to share your knowledge with those who need it.
You say you knew about entheogens, and do you still? Did you come to this board for information on mushrooms and cultivation and such, or just to look at the community?

Well naturally, I want to share my Knowledge, Experience, & Insight on anything that interests people here. I'll have to get to know the community better, to see what that is...
I also like to pick people's brain for what they know. For example, I've had plenty of experience with various mushrooms, but I don't know anything about cultivating them. I'm *pretty sure* I'm in the right place for that...
I love gardening, and my garden loves me. That's because I not only talk to my plants, but I also listen to what they have to say. I have pet goldfish, but they are working pets. You see, they live in Reverse Osmosis water, and when I do the 1/4 tank change thing, I throw the 'waste' water out on the garden. They love that stuff
Here's a pic of my prize San Pedro cactus in bloom (trichocereus pachnoi)

Welcome to the Shroomery.
You seem like a very spiritual person. I hope to see you in the Spirituality and Philosophy (S&P) forums soon.
Oh...be advised that the Off Topic Discussion (OTD) forum is kinda strange.

The Pub is like walking thru a cow field. You might come across the occasional pile of shit.
OTD is like walking thru a mine field. Over there, you gotta watch out for the unexpected hidden bomb, a pile of shit is the least of your worries

I'm always careful of stepping in cow shit, because you never know when a friend might be growing there...
Lately I've been finding garden snails trying to eat my San Pedro cactuses. Imagine a snail high on mescaline? I also have a neighbor who has always been sort of a pest, too. So I've been marking the snails with a black marker, and then putting them in my pesky neighbor's yard. I don't like killing things I'm not going to eat. Anyway, now I'm finding that some of the snails are actually coming back...
Over at the @Forumz board, they have a forum called MTF (Main Tori Forum). I call it the main Troll Forum. OTD sounds like some sort of disease...

Welcome indeed! I'll look forward to seeing your take on things in the Philosphy and Spirituality forums, which I'm sure you'll be posting in, considering your background. This place has much to offer.

I'll get over there soon enough. It's been a long day, and I'm sleepy. Best to post in serious threads, when you are rested & clear-minded...
I think I'm going to like this place a lot
