I hate my submerible heater.

ok, i have 2 rubbermaid bins built to incubate. 50 watt heater is what im using, around 3 inches of water. whenever i turn the heater to around 86, it barely heats the water. i check back in 2 hours, and the thermometer says 84-85 in my chamber. doesnt feel like it at all, the jars are barely warm, so i have to turn the heater to 88 or so, and it does up to 88. and the jars feel perfect. my question is, is it ok for the jars to incubate at around 87-88?

If your thermometer is saying 84-85 what are you worried about man?? No it wont hurt to be at 88-87. Keep in mind its a few degrees higher inside your jars.

80 / 82F is PERFECT for jar incubation.
Trust your thermometer, not your touch & feel judgement.

81 to 84 degrees F. is optimal.

it won't feel warm to you...but its plenty warm in there for our little friends.

if the thermometer says its 84...hopefully it is.

remember... your body temp is 98.6
84 degrees is still gonna feel cold. They shouldnt feel warm to the touch, they shouldnt feel cold to the touch either. Just put it on 84 and leave it
