smell, no bad appearance

Well now... I open all my jars to check on them and to case them, and all my jars are ok with the exception of one. This jar has a smell I can only describe as the smell of a rotten bannana. But the thing is it doesn't look bad at all. No bad appearance at all.

So my questions are:
1) Is it contamination?
2) If it is contam.: could I case the good jars, and put this one questionable cake out as a cake method on the perlite to pin?
3) are and mushrooms grown from this cake bad to eat?

I would like everyone to know that I trashed the cake.... It stunk up my whole room... I still think it may grow something in the trash though.

And I still want an answer to that question. Nothing at all was wrong with it. If I had braved the smell, would it have grown anything?

yes yes and probably not. you also probably wouldn't even get any shrooms from the contamned cake.

trashing it was, IMO, the best thing to do. I just hope the trash you put it in is no longer in the same house as the rest of them.

I think thats exactly what i had.

it was pure white and had a different looking texture than mycelium

well its gone anyways
