Work Release or Jailtime?

So what should I choose. I went with the work release at first, so I'm now signed up, but I just found out that I really can't afford it. I thought I had more money than I really did, and the 300 down on the first day is way pricey. So the question: should I drop 4 days work release and take the 2 days jailtime or not? The 12 hours in the drunk tank were bad enough...

take two days jail time, find a good book to read, it will go quick. As long as you know you are getting out soon It's not so bad.

Two days of jail can't be too bad. What exactly is work release, and why would you have to pay for it?

Unless your cellmate is bubba....... Work release is when you're out to work during the day and spent the nights in jail. I would never want to go to jail, but $300.....damn. If you can take care of yourself than I'd say go for the 2 days in the tank.

i agree, look at it as a pseudo holiday. stay quiet, watch your butt and 48 hours will be done with, it's not Federal-Pound-Me-In-The-Ass-Prison.

I'll start sharpening a spoon...
Work release is basically your "Get out of jail for $300 card". You work on the streets under supervision and have to pay them for the allowance of letting you out of the cell. I'm weary on jail cause even though it's no max security whatever, I've got a bit of a baby face. Being 20 (21 in 2 months) I get that I look 16 a lot. Very annoying when buying cigarettes, and possibly annoying to the guy in there for child molestation...

hey I am about in the same boat..if I fuck up I am facing 11 months in jail and an additional 1850.00 in fines on top of my total of $1650 dollars total in fines with attorneys fees..I messed up pretty bad I got busted with 3 charges within about a month of each other... I thought I would be facing almost 2 years sorry,,but a year total is a lot...I am not sopposed to drink or do drugs but my probation is not going to search my place unless I get dirty Ua's.. so take 2 days, big deal it would be a vacation...in a way...sleep a lot...

i'm not sure where you are or what you are in for, but most city jails are not that tough and if you are in a county cell for two days it's still not gonna be that bad in most cases, your in and out and most likely wont be messed with if you just keep to yourself. It's not like you are going to prison. I have no prison experience but the way I understand it, that is where bubba awaits.

I never heard of paying to be in the workhouse, usually they pay you like .15 cents an hour for work.
Also chimos are usually segregated, and they almost always are hated by everyone.

2 fucking days?! Dude, bite the bullet and get the 48 hours over with. You can sleep most of it away and be well rested when you hit the street, in 2 days.
