Timothy Leary's Last Trip
    #4082728 - 04/21/05 09:37 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

Just saw it...great movie!

I like how they all have nitrous balloons at the end.

Also made me think about cyberspace...I've never really given it much thought before but it's mind boggling.

Timothy Leary, Ken Kesey and the music of The Grateful Dead, how can you beat that?

Oh yeah I was listening to Radio Margaritaville tonight and the dj mentioned that this was the aniversery that Leary was shot into outer space with the dude from star trac. The first ever space funeral im not sure how many years ago to this day though I forgot already. This is what I thought this thread was about. They said that his last whish was for one last far out trip.

I didn't know that this was the anniversary of Leary being shot into space.  Interesting.

Yeah it is interesting. I knew he was shot into space but I never knew the circumstances like that he was shot with another guy(the guy from star trac) apparently on a spanish sattelite? You think his ashes are still up there orbiting the earth or do you think the sattelite re-entered orbit and burned up like a shooting star?

I was actually kind of unimpressed with the film, but it's a must-have for my collection despite that.

I think that the whole video is ruined when that one 90's hippy dude at the festival says "...just get as high as you possibly can!" Even if you do or don't agree with Leary's ideas, you have to agree that this kind of attitude ruins all appearances of the legitimacy of the LSD movement.

Otherwise it's a pretty cool flick! I really liked the part where the skeleton was telling the story about the king and the blighted grain.

I'm pretty sure they said that it was for a limited time. I forget how long they said he'd be up there for or why. I assume because he would eventually be burned up, as you said.

Yeah, I dig that. I wouldn't have chosen that clip to make the film, myself.
